I had my first heart attack the first day I got my pigs

I had just gotten my  8 little piggies home ,  got the 3 cages all cleaned up and decided on which piggies were going where . Feeling I had gotten alot done , and in need of a break , I sat down to the computer and started doing some much needed research on how to care for hairless piggies . I had never had hairless ones , but had experience with the other kinds of guinea pigs from years and years ago . When it happened .....

OMG !!!  I read this very post

Bathing your Skinny Pig

Every 2 to 4 weeks, you should bathe your hairless skinny pig. To do this, fill a sink or bathtub with about one inch of warm water; it should not be higher than their chest and should not touch their face, nose, or ears at all. Pour warm water over their back, being careful to not get any in their ears or on their face. Lather them using baby shampoo and rinse thoroughly. Dry them with a soft towel, spread a gentle, scent-free lotion on their bodies and heads, avoiding the eyes and genitalia, and be sure to keep them extra warm. Additionally, hairless piggies may get dry skin or dry spots if they are not lotioned frequently enough. Generally, "enough" in our experience has been 1 - 2 times per week; however, it will vary from piggy to piggy so be sure to take notice of when your piggy may need it.

I had put corn cob litter in 2 of the 3 cages , and the paper litter in the 3rd one , which was the largest of the the 3 ! HEART ATTACK TIME !! I grabbed my keys and off ot Wal-Mart I went in a flash to get Aspen shavings !
